Different Perspective!
STOP shooting everything at eye level!

This is an OK shot. I shot this late in the day and I like how the water is reflecting some of that beautiful golden light. The problem with this shot is that it doesn’t strike you as anything special. The biggest reason for that isn’t any major technical flaw, it’s that it is shot at eye level. Everyone sees the world at eye level everyday, so most images shot like this don’t strike us or make us look twice. All I did for this next shot is looked for a different angle or perspective!

Now instead of a human eye level shot, I took on the perspective of a frog. This picture will make you look twice! All I had to do was get down on my stomach and use the rocks to steady the camera. I am never afraid to crawl or roll around on the ground looking for new perspectives. The next time you are out shooting just think of some different angles to try. Lay down on your back and shoot up, or follow your pet around and shoot their way of seeing the world. The possibilities are endless.

Thanks for reading, be careful and shoot more!
